Nearly 7,000 doctors treat patients with COVID-19 in Ukraine
Almost 7,000 medical workers have joined the treatment of coronavirus patients in Ukraine.
This was announced by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal at a special government meeting on Friday, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.
“Our war today is not only an aggression in the east, it is also a fight against the epidemic of coronavirus. Nearly seven thousand medical workers have joined the treatment of patients with COVID-19 , they saved thousands of lives, “said Shmygal.
He also congratulated the medical workers on the eve of their professional vacation on June 21.
“I congratulate the Ministry of Health, as well as all the medical workers, the Minister on professional vacations. I wish good health to all Ukrainians,” said Shmygal.
He added that Ukraine is in the hands of doctors today.
“Life is a priceless gift, and sometimes only doctors can give it to us for the second time. Doctors are that real elite, formed, unnamed, on which every society, including ours, relies. the elite are responsibility and sacrifice. The elite is always the first to wage war on disasters, putting their lives at risk, “said Shmygal.

The head of government also called on Ukrainians to wear personal protective equipment.
As Ukrinform reported, as of June 19, 34,984 cases of COVID-19 had been laboratory confirmed in Ukraine, 921 new cases per day.
The day of the medical worker is celebrated in Ukraine on the third Sunday in June, in 2020 it is June 21.
