Over the weekend, more than 4,500 people crossed the Shegini crosswalk
From May 23 to 24, 4,595 people passed through the pedestrian checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Polish border at Shegini Medica, 2,669 of which went to Ukraine and 1,926 to Poland.
This was reported to Ukrinform by a spokeswoman for the Bieszczady department of the Polish border guards, Elzbieta Pikor.
“On Saturday, 1,117 people crossed the border into Ukraine, 1,552 crossed it on Sunday. At the same time, 766 crossed the border into Poland on Sunday, 1,160 crossed it on Sunday,” said the spokesperson.
She added that over the weekend, more people crossed the border at this checkpoint into Ukraine, while in the week there was a slightly larger flow of people to Poland.

As noted, the Shegini-Medica ground checkpoint resumed operations on Saturday, May 16.
