The Verkhovna Rada adopted a resolution “On the prevention of the suspension of the operation of hospitals for war veterans during the introduction of the second phase of medical reform” (No. 3235).
The corresponding decision was supported by 327 deputies with the required minimum of 226, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
The Rada adopted this resolution because of the impossibility for hospitals of war veterans to conclude agreements with the National Health Service of Ukraine on a common basis and in order to prevent the restriction of functional powers and the closure of veterans hospitals due to lack of adequate public funding and limited local budget.

The resolution recommends that the government postpone the participation of war veterans hospitals in the transition to a new funding system through the National Health Service of Ukraine for a period of one year.
The document also proposes to maintain funding for hospitals for veterans by transferring grants from the state budget through the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
