The Verkhovna Rada adopted at second reading the law “amending certain laws of Ukraine concerning the increase in social guarantees for certain categories of people” (No. 2494).

The decision was supported by 239 deputies, reports the correspondent of Ukrinform.

“The bill provides for an increase in social guarantees for children under guardianship or guardianship, including for children with disabilities, the unification of the principles of child assistance for single mothers and low-income families, as well as the establishment of state social assistance for the care of single people who have reached 80 years of age. children and those who need constant outside care, ”says the explanatory note.

The law stipulates that assistance to children on whom guardianship or guardianship is established will be provided up to 2.5 living wages for a child of the corresponding age, for disabled children on whom guardianship or guardianship is established, – 3, 5 living wage for a child of the corresponding age.

If a child (disabled child) receives the prescribed support, alimony, scholarship, public assistance (with the exception of public social assistance paid to disabled children, in accordance with the law), the amount of the assistance for the child on whom he is established Guardianship or guardianship is defined as the difference between 2.5 times the subsistence minimum (for a disabled child on whom custody or guardianship is established – 3.5 times the subsistence minimum ) for a child of the appropriate age and the amount of the prescribed support, alimony, grants, state aid.

The previous version of the law provided that assistance for children for whom guardianship had been established was provided at the level of two salaries for a child of the corresponding age.

In addition, the law provides for the allocation of state social assistance to the care of single people who have reached the age of 80 and who, at the conclusion of the medical advisory commission, require constant external care and receive a pension in accordance with the laws of Ukraine “On compulsory state pension insurance” or “” On the granting of pensions to persons released from military service and certain other persons. “
