Poland transferred humanitarian aid to Ukraine against COVID-19
Warsaw has donated humanitarian aid to Kiev to fight the coronavirus. 12 trucks of Polish border guards with personal protective equipment will arrive in Ukraine today.
The official ceremony for sending the humanitarian convoy to Ukraine and Moldova, which took place on June 24 in Warsaw, brought together representatives of the government of the Republic of Poland, Polish organizations, the Ukrainian ambassador to Poland Andriy Deshchytsa, reports from Ukrinform correspondents.
“Today we are helping and tomorrow we may need help. The Polish government is sending humanitarian aid in the form of personal protective equipment – masks, gloves, overalls, disinfectants – for the institutions affected with COVID-19 in Ukraine and Moldova. 12 fire trucks the services will bring this aid to Ukraine, 4 to Moldova, “said Polish customs chief Magdalena Zhechkovskaya.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Pavel Yablonsky, stressed that the aid is being sent to close friends of Poland – Ukraine and Moldova, with whom she is cooperating closely in the framework of the project Eastern partnership.
“One of our top foreign policy priorities is for the countries of central and eastern Europe to cooperate actively within the EU,” said Yablonsky.

The Ukrainian ambassador to Poland, Andriy Deshchitsa, stressed that the provision of this assistance is one of the most important events, which demonstrates the opening of Warsaw to countries which need it under current conditions.
“Polish solidarity is known worldwide, in Ukraine as well. It has been known here since the Orange Revolution and Euromaidan, when the Poles supported the Ukrainians in their efforts to achieve rapprochement with the EU and to carry out reforms” , said Deshchitsa.
