PrivatBank files new lawsuit against former owners for $ 5.5 billion

PrivatBank has filed a new lawsuit against former owners in the amount of 5.5 billion dollars, which will be examined in the jurisdiction of Cyprus.

About this on the airwaves of “Freedom of Speech Savik Shuster” on the channel “Ukraine”, said a member of the supervisory board of the Privatbank Roman Sulzhik, the correspondent of Ukrinform reports.

“The private state bank has very good news. Two hours ago, we filed a new lawsuit in the jurisdiction of Cyprus against the former owners – Kolomoisky and Bogolyubov – in the amount of $ 5.5 billion. This is comparable to the IMF tranche, “said Sulzhik.

According to him, this trial is associated with questionable transactions that were carried out in Privatbank from 2013 to 2016.

“We are not only suing the former owners, this time they will be joined by one of the former members of the bank’s board of directors, two Cypriot companies associated with the former owners of the Privatbank,” said Sulzhik.

He added that the trial had been filed in the jurisdiction of Cyprus – “because, as we believe, there have been questionable transactions”.

“We have a very solid legal position, I think we will put this money back into the Ukrainian budget,” said Sulzhik.
