After consultation with the state fiscal service and payment systems, PrivatBank refused to print checks at POS terminals. Now it can be printed only when the seller or buyer needs the document, the bank’s press service reports.

After successful authorization, the question of printing the check will be displayed on the screen of the POS terminal and, at the request of the customer, the cashier can print it. This option will significantly reduce the cost of thermal paper, clean the cashier area with checks, which are abandoned immediately after purchase, and help save trees. According to preliminary calculations, this would save up to 2 million UAH per month, meaning up to 24 million UAH per year, noted at PrivantBank.

Earlier, the State Tax Service reported that sellers are not required to save checks from POS terminals. “It makes no sense, because tax and banking laws do not require such checks to be stored,” the state tax administration said.
