The Attorney General’s strategy for the murder of activist Yekaterina Gandzyuk does not work to bring those responsible to justice.
This was stated in the Freedom of Expression on ICTV program by lawyer Evgenia Zakrevskaya, a correspondent for Ukrinform.
“If we assess all the steps that started with the appointment of the new attorney general, then, I’m sorry, I see a direct and clear strategy. And this strategy is not particularly beneficial for the cause, nor for finding a killer , nor to prosecute all customers and all organizers. This is only in the interest of the suspects themselves, “said the defender.
She noted that the decision to close the preliminary inquiry had been taken without regard to the perspective of the victims.
Zakrevskaya also noted that studying additional evidence at the end of the preliminary inquiry would be an extremely problematic problem – and the defense could take advantage of it.

In turn, Deputy Attorney General Roman Romanchuk said, “We don’t end anyone and don’t leave it to anyone, it’s wrong to say. Because the same prosecutor went to court and supported the prosecution there, open evidence in an adversarial process, defend and defend its position. “
He also noted that the prosecution had enough evidence to refer the case to the court.
As reported, on April 27, the Office of the Attorney General and the SBU announced the end of the investigation in the event of an attack on Yekaterina Gandzyuk.
At the same time, activists said the case was referred to the court without having completed all the investigations.

In January of this year in Bulgaria, for organizing an attack on Yekaterina Gandzyuk, Aleksey Levin, assistant consultant to a deputy of the Kherson regional council, was arrested. On March 16, he was extradited to Ukraine.
According to investigators, Levin is a key figure connecting artists (the “Torbin group”) and clients of Gandzyuk’s attack. It is he who is suspected of organizing this crime, of inciting him to commit it, of providing in particular information on the place of residence of Gandzyuk.
In March, the court extended the Levin investigation to July 29.
