Public transportation may be stopped again in some areas – Shmygal
Prime Minister Denis Shmygal does not exclude that, in certain regions, public transport may be stopped again due to the spread of the coronavirus.
He said so in an interview with BBC News Ukraine.
“There is an increase in the number of patients. Regarding the closure of transport, this is possible in certain cities and regions. It is possible that in certain cities or regions it may be necessary to revert to the closure of transport by decision of the local commissions “said Shmygal.
He explained that it will all depend on the bed load in hospitals, the rate of patient growth and a number of other indicators.

As for the closure of transport in Kiev, according to the Prime Minister, the decision also depends on the local authorities.
“The mayor of Kiev should become the initiator (closure of public transport.) If we see a threat of epidemic on a hyperbolic scale, we will make recommendations or introduce quarantine at state level,” said Shmygal. .
As reported by Ukrinform, 10 regions of Ukraine and the city of Kiev do not meet all the criteria necessary to weaken anti-epidemic measures.

As of June 26, 41,117 cases of COVID-19 had been laboratory confirmed in Ukraine, 1,109 new cases per day.
