Putin-Lukashenko conflict: Russian leader reacts to unfair gas prices

The head of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, was not satisfied with Alexander Lukashenko’s call to lower the price of Russian gas for Belarus. He flatly refused and continued to sell gas in Belarus at a higher price than in Europe.

Earlier, Lukashenko berated Putin that Russia sold gas to Belarus almost twice as much as Germany, and this is completely illogical in the context of history. The head of Belarus believes that the Allied states which together arrested Hitler should find compromises, but Putin does not think so.

Putin said prices are now dependent on market conditions and cost accounting and supplier investments. The questions of Allied relations and shared history proved to be of no interest to Putin in this context. He noted that he could not reach an agreement with his Belarusian and Armenian colleagues on the issue of gas prices, but he would not make concessions to the Russian Federation.

As a reminder, as previously mentioned, Pushkov opposed Zhirinovsky: the Kremlin will not allow a coup in power.
