Quarantine in Ukraine extended to May 11 but slightly weakened

The Cabinet of Ministers approved a draft resolution on the extension of the quarantine until May 11, 2020 (inclusive), but with certain concessions.

The decision was made at a government meeting on Wednesday April 22, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.

As indicated, in Ukraine from March 12, 2020, quarantine was introduced as part of the fight against the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection.

On March 25, 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine introduced an emergency regime throughout the country and extended the quarantine until April 24.

Educational and business establishments are closed in quarantine in Ukraine, with the exception of grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations and banks. The works of the Kiev metro, Kharkov and the Dnieper were stopped, the interurban and interregional services of automobile, rail and air were stopped.

Health Minister Maxim Stepanov said on April 21 that the government would decide at the next meeting to extend the quarantine until May 12.
