Quarantine in Ukraine to be extended until June 22 – Lyashko
The general quarantine in Ukraine will last until June 22.
This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Health – chief medical officer of health Viktor Lyashko on “Snіdanku z 1 + 1”, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.
“Now we are following the dynamics in Poland, the most similar scenario. Therefore, we will always be on the set. However, we cannot take seasonality into account. Since we still do not understand how the virus will behave in been in our conditions. Therefore, the question is what do we tell ourselves that we will extend the quarantine until June 22, but it will be adaptive with mitigation measures, but everything will depend on the epidemiological situation “, said Lyashko.
According to him, if there is a strong decrease in cases of coronavirus, the quarantine can be canceled earlier.
As Ukrinform reported, since March 12, the government has introduced quarantine in Ukraine to combat the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection. In particular, the works of the Kiev metro, Kharkov and Dnipro have been stopped, the circulation of land transport in cities, interurban and interregional services of automobile, railway and aviation has been stopped. Since March 28, Ukraine has completely closed the border for scheduled flights, including air travel.

On April 24, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal unveiled a quarantine exit plan for Ukraine, which includes 5 steps. The first weakening of quarantine in Ukraine began on May 11. The quarantine has now been extended until May 22.
As of May 19, 18,876 cases of COVID-19 had been laboratory confirmed in Ukraine. For one day – 260 new cases.
