Verkhovna Rada adopted a resolution to support the expansion of blocking of Russian Internet resources, VKontakte and Odnoklassniki. 248 deputies voted for the relevant motion.

On 10 April, the head of the National Security and Defense Council, Ivan Bakanov, proposed to extend the ban on the use of Russian social networks for three more years. On 7 May, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence recommended the adoption of a resolution to expand the blocking of the Russian social networks, VKontakte, and Odnoklassniki. According to the Secretary of the Security Service of Ukraine (NSDC), Oleksy Danilov, the draft of this decree is currently submitted to President Volodymyr Zalensky.

Recall that in the spring of 2017, Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko called for a ban on the use of resources of the Russian social network VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, Yandex, in Ukraine, as well as a ban on the use of 1C accounting software product for national security. And decided the Defense Council. Later, the relevant lists were expanded, and restrictions were extended.
