The Ukrainian side hopes that the next step in the mutual release of detainees between Ukraine and ORDLO will take place next Thursday and Friday.
It was in a flash interview with the Interfax-Ukraine agency by the Deputy Prime Minister for the reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories, the representative of Ukraine in the TKG political subgroup Alexey Reznikov.
“Today we believe more clearly that it will happen before Easter, in the next two working days – Thursday and Friday … We are trying to speed up as much as possible, to do what is up to us,” said Reznikov .
He noted that the grounds for cautious optimism were given by the statement of the Special Representative of the Head of the OSCE of TKH, Heidi Grau, that all parties to the process had confirmed to him that the main basic points agreed upon the last meeting had been reached.

“The advanced team has been working there for two days, especially my assistant. He personally verified the observation sites where our citizens would be taken after a 14-day exchange. There, they will receive care, medical surveillance, food, clothing and means of communication to communicate with their relatives and friends – at least by videoconference, “said Reznikov.
He added that the exchange of detained persons will probably take place in two places, since there is an internal border between the two temporarily occupied territories of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions which are not under the control of the Ukrainian authorities in the framework of the coronavirus epidemic.
As noted, after the TKG’s April 8 videoconference, the Office of the President announced that it had reached agreement in principle on the mutual release lists of detainees, as well as the dates for Easter at the latest.
