Romania has decided who will be allowed to cross the border from Ukraine
Romania has not yet opened additional border crossing points for Ukrainians.
This was reported to the Ukrinform correspondent by SPSU spokesperson Andrei Demchenko, answering the question of who can go to Romania and whether this country has opened its borders.
“I didn’t open it any more. Now, there are two checkpoints in the Transcarpathian region: Dyakovo – Halmeu; in the Chernivtsi region:” Porubnoye – Siret, “he said.
In order to inform citizens about crossing the border with Romania, the SPSU has published information from the Romanian side on who can now enter Romania.
In Romania, in particular, people can enter:
- have a long-term visa, a residence permit or a document equivalent to a residence permit issued by the competent authorities, or another document issued by the competent authorities of other States in accordance with European Union law;
- people who travel for business purposes and can confirm this with a special visa, residence permit or other equivalent document. People traveling in transit, passengers traveling in accordance with a special order or mandate.

As reported, on May 20, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine authorized the work of 66 checkpoints at the border with the European Union and Moldova.
The border agency of the Slovak Republic has taken over the operation of two checkpoints with Ukraine and Moldova.
Hungary also planned to resume the operation of additional checkpoints, but has so far postponed this decision.
Romania and Poland are still considering opening new CPVMs.
