Russian spy recruits suspected Groysman translator

A citizen of the Russian Federation, the head of the operations department of the 74th intelligence center of the Directorate General of the General Staff of the Armed Forces RF was informed of suspicions of incitement to high treason by an official of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, in 2017, an employee of the Russian intelligence services initiated confidential cooperation with a citizen of Ukraine, who at the time held the post of deputy chief of protocol of the Prime Minister of Ukraine, in order to receive information from it, the disclosure of which could harm the sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine. .
An official of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine was found guilty of treason in favor of the special services of the Russian Federation and sentenced to an actual sentence. In September 2019, as part of the exchange, he was transferred to the Russian Federation.
A preliminary investigation is under way by the Main Investigation Department of the Security Service of Ukraine under the leadership of the Department for Crimes Committed in Armed Conflict, the Prosecutor General’s Office and operational support of the Department of Counterintelligence of Security services of the SBU.

As Ukrinform reported, on December 20, 2017, counterintelligence agents of the Ukrainian security services exposed an official of the secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers on activities carried out in the interest of the Russian special services. We are talking about Stanislav Yezhov – the former deputy chief of protocol of the Prime Minister, personal translator of former Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman.
According to investigators, the translator was recruited by the Russian special services during a trip to Saint Petersburg in June 2017. The SBU and the military prosecutor’s office believe that it has sent closed information on the work of the Ukrainian government and its chief Groysman at the Russian intelligence department.
In September 2019, Yezhov, convicted of high treason and 3 years’ imprisonment, which he served in detention, was transferred to Russia as part of a prisoner swap.
