It is planned to carry out the pay check for the prisons in the prisons until the fall of autumn.

This was announced by the Minister of Justice of Ukraine Denis Malyuk in an interview with Radio Liberty.

“Again, a salary of 5 to 6,000 hryvnia despite the fact that a person lives in prison and only communicates with criminals is not an adequate reward. We basically force them to participate in stories of corruption. Because, just by leaving this job, by hiring another similar one, this person automatically receives a third of the big salary. What is the point of working in prisons? According to salary increases, this is what we plan to do in the fall as well. I think somewhere until November we will raise them somewhere, ”said Malyuska.

According to him, salaries will be increased by reducing the number of prisons and the staff.

“And that’s it. We will not take any extra money from the budget. We will adjust the system for the best work within the existing borders,” said the minister.

As Ukrinform pointed out with reference to Minister Denis Malyuku, the Ministry of Justice plans to put up for sale prisons that are not currently used. In particular, according to him, last week, the Ministry of Justice “frozen” nine prisons and plans to put them on sale.
