Samsung and Xiaomi dominate Android smartphone sales ranking


Samsung and Xiaomi have become reference brands in the Android market. Confirmation comes from the Strategy Analytics report. According to data published today, in fact, this Samsung Galaxy A51With a market share of 2-3%, the best-selling smartphone in the first quarter of 2020 in the Android sector.

Samsung’s midrange provides Redmi 8, which reaches a diffusion rate of 1.9%, and Samsung Galaxy S20 + which, with a market share of 1.7%, is also the only Android version in the top 6 distributed by Strategy Analytics. To complete the list of best-selling Android smartphones, we find the entry level Samsung Galaxy A10s and last year’s bestsellero Redmi Note 8, with a market share of 1.6%, and Galaxy A20s, with a spread of 1.4%.

Recall that in a recent Canalys report on overall smartphone market sales in the first quarter of 2020, the championship was before the iPhone 11, followed by a series of Redmi Note 8 (which includes both Note 8 and Note 8T) and Galaxy A51. The role of Xiaomi and Samsung in the Android market, therefore, now belongs to the absolute heroes with entry-level and intermediate levels, which, with the exception of S20 + (which would record sales data below expected), are the most popular models.
