Schemes at Ukroboronprom: investigation into the former deputy director of the Mayak factory closed
The Kiev prosecution has completed the investigation into the former deputy managing director of the Mayak factory, caught in an agreement with the property of Ukroboronprom.

“The Kiev City Prosecutor’s Office has completed a preliminary investigation into the ongoing criminal proceedings against the former deputy general manager of the Mayak factory in Kiev, who was found guilty of attempted fraudulent seizure of funds in the course of of the alienation of property from Ukroboronprom (part 2 of article 15 and part 4 of article 190 Criminal Code of Ukraine), “the report said.
According to the investigation, in 2019, the former official promised the head of the commercial structure assistance in the acquisition of the factory building complex at a considerably reduced price. The total amount of the transaction was to be US $ 4.5 million, of which US $ 2 million, the buyer was to formally pay for the complex, and US $ 2.5 million was to be personally transferred to the suspect as a reward for “services”.

Law enforcement officials arrested the ex-official at the bank’s branch after receiving an advance of $ 200,000.
According to art. 290 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the suspect and his defenders are opened with documents of criminal procedure for examination, after which the indictment will be sent to the court.
For fraud with state property, the suspect faces up to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.
