1,500 scientists from 38 countries have joined the study of complications from coronavirus disease, which causes patients to lose their sense of smell and smell.
This was reported by the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), reports its own correspondent Ukrinform.
“Many patients with COVID-19 have experienced loss of taste (ageusia) and / or smell (anosmia). More than 500 researchers from 38 countries have joined together in the framework of the Global Consortium of Chemosensory Research (GCCR) to study this phenomenon, ”specifies the CNRS.

France has associated its laboratory research facilities and equipment with an international project.
Study participants are conducting an international survey in more than 20 languages of current patients or people who have had COVID-19 before. Scientists set a goal to assess and find the cause of the disease’s influence on taste and smell, based on the person’s age and other circumstances and conditions.
The data will be collected anonymously and will be reliably protected.
