The Kiev Pechersk court extended the preventive measure in the form of the detention of one of the suspects in the murder of journalist Pavel Sheremet Andrei Antonenko (“Riffmaster”) for 60 days.

The proceedings of the meeting were broadcast on the YouTube page of the Ukrainian judicial authority, reports a correspondent from Ukrinform.

“Extend until July 23, 2020 inclusive, in the form of the detention of Andrei Sergeyevich Antonenko,” said judge Vitaliy Pisanets.

Earlier on May 25, the judge of the Pechersk district court Vitaly Pisantsu, who was supposed to choose a preventive measure for the doctor and volunteer Yulia Kuzmenko, his lawyer Taras Bespaly announced a challenge.

In addition, according to Bespaly, he doubts the objective self-distribution of this case to judge Pisanets, who should consider a request for an extension of the detention of all accused in the case of the murder of journalist Pavel Sheremet – Andrei Antonenko, Yulia Kuzmenko and Yana Dugar.

As indicated, Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov announced on December 12, 2019 the detention and the suspicion of the accused in the case of the murder of Sheremet.

In particular, the investigation suspects the doctor and volunteer Yulia Kuzmenko, the nurse of one of the paratrooper battalions Yan Dugar and the ATO veteran Andrei Antonenko.

Kuzmenko and Antonenko are now in prison. Dugar was elected as a preventive measure in the form of a night arrest.

On May 21, lawyer Leonid Maslov said that the investigation into the murder of journalist Pavel Sheremet had changed the suspicions of Andrei Antonenko and Yulia Kuzmenko. Subsequently, the media reported that Dugar had also changed the suspicion.
