Sheremet case: court refused to change Antonenko’s preventive measure
The court dismissed the suspect’s defense request in the murder of journalist Pavel Sheremet, musician Andrei Antonenko (“Riffmaster”) to change the preventive measure.
This was reported on the Free Riff community Facebook page.
“The The Bortnicheskaya examining magistrate rejected the request of the defense of Andrei Antonenko to modify the preventive measure. At least until June 1, he will now remain in detention”, declared the community, according to About the head of the law firm Sense Consulting, linked to the defense of Antonenko, Leonid Maslov.
The court issued such a decision on May 12.
As reported by Ukrinform, Home Affairs Minister Arsen Avakov announced on December 12, 2019 the detention and the suspicion of the accused in connection with the murder of Sheremet.

In particular, the investigation suspects the doctor and volunteer Yulia Kuzmenko, the nurse of one of the paratrooper battalions Yan Dugar and the ATO veteran Andrei Antonenko.
Kuzmenko and Antonenko are now in prison. Dugar was elected as a preventive measure in the form of a night arrest.
Journalist Pavel Sheremet died on July 20, 2016 in Kiev following a car explosion.
