Shmygal calls on heads of regional state administrations to develop new social standards in the event of a pandemic

Prime Minister Denis Shmygal called on the presidents of the regional state administration to jointly develop new social standards of life after strict quarantine measures, in particular new standards of transport, standards of social distance and to stay in closed premises and institutions.

With this initiative, he spoke during a conference call with RSA leaders and mayors on combating the spread of the coronavirus, according to the government portal.

“By government decree, quarantine is valid until April 24. Most likely, it will be extended until early May. And only then can we remove some of the restrictions. At the same time, we understand that the disease will not recede quickly. Consequently, they must prepare new social standards of life after strict quarantine measures: develop new standards of transport, standards of social distance, stay in confined spaces and institutions. We have some time for that. And it’s very important to work together, ”said Shmygal.

He also noted that through the joint efforts of the President, the government and local authorities, they have managed to minimize the burden on the medical system and save tens of thousands of lives.

“We need to coordinate our efforts as much as possible and, based on global experience, move to local quarantines in the event of new disease outbreaks,” said Shmygal.

He also urged mayors to continue working together for the well-being of their fellow citizens: “We are developing a separate program to create jobs, and your help is needed here. We are waiting for a list of you, workers of what professions and how much you need. This is your application for working hands. “

The mayors, in turn, took an interest in the state of preparation of the modifications to the state budget. The Prime Minister has declared that the works are in the final stages and hopes that next week the Verkhovna Rada will support him.

According to the report, the meeting also brought together the vice-president of the cabinet of President Sergey Trofimov, the mayor of Kiev Vitaliy Klichko at the head of the Association of Ukrainian cities, the Minister of Social Policy Marina Lazebnaya, the Minister of Development from cities and territories Aleksey Chernyshov, Minister of Health Maxim Stepanov and other members of the government.
