The government does not plan to change the quarantine management system in Ukraine in the near future and abandon adaptive quarantine, but if the incidence increases significantly in more than 10 areas, quarantine can be strengthened in all the countries.

This was announced at a press conference on the occasion of 100 days of government work by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.

According to him, in the context of adaptive quarantine, the mitigation of restrictive measures as a whole in the State took place.

“But in a number of areas, we haven’t even gone into the second stage of quarantine, let alone the third or next stages,” added the Prime Minister.

He also said that the government was working closely with regional leaders, mayors and other representatives of local self-government.

“Each of these leaders at their level, including the level of threat and the incidence rate, takes concrete measures and has all the tools to make decisions and take stricter measures at the level of technogenic and environmental safety commissions “said Shmygal.

He also added that adaptive quarantine has proven to be an effective mechanism, therefore the government does not plan to change this system in the near future.

“If in ten or more regions we see a significant increase in the incidence rate, this will be an opportunity to take a decision to strengthen quarantine measures in the state,” said the Prime Minister.

No one is immune to the second wave of the pandemic, he said, but it depends to a large extent on Ukrainian society and people’s attitudes towards respecting measures that limit the spread of the infection.
