“Shot revival”: SBU published KGB documents on the fate of the deportees
The Security Service of Ukraine has published documents from the KGB archives which contain information on the fate of representatives of the Shot Revival, suppressed in 1937-1938.
This was reported by the SBU press service on Facebook.
“More than 260,000 Ukrainians were victims of the terror of 1937-1938. Most of them were killed. And their families were informed of the deaths from heart attacks and heart attacks. It should be noted that documents are published on the occasion of Memorial Day for the victims of political repression.

The Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Political Repression is celebrated in accordance with the President’s Decree of May 21, 2007, on the third Sunday in May each year, to commemorate the memory of the victims of political repression, in order to draw attention of the public on the tragic events in the history of Ukraine caused by the forced introduction of communist ideology.

“Shot Revival” is a spiritual, cultural, literary and artistic generation from the 1920s in Ukraine, which produced highly artistic works in the fields of literature, philosophy, painting, music, theater and who was destroyed by the Stalin regime. The generation of the Shot Revival, in particular, includes: the founder of the new Ukrainian theater, Les Kurbas; Valeryan Pidmogilny, one of the most talented Ukrainian prose writers; Nikolay Kulish – playwright, public figure and educational figure, editor; Nikolai Zerov – the head of the “neoclassicists”, an extremely subtle scholar, poet, translator of Western and European literature; Matvey Yavorsky – historian, politician, academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences; Vladimir Chekhovski is a Ukrainian politician, public figure, Prime Minister of the UPR, one of the founders of the UAOC and many others. All were young, at their peak, mainly between 36 and 50 years old.
