Since early 2020, a specialized committee of the Ukrainian Ministry of Health has decided to finance the treatment abroad of 316 citizens.
This was stated by Deputy Minister of Health Irina Mikichak during a briefing, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.
“Since the beginning of 2020, the Ministry of Health’s commission on the referral of patients abroad has decided to finance 316 citizens who benefit from the possibility of receiving highly specialized medical care outside of Ukraine”, she said.
According to her, at the last meeting of the commission, on May 26, the relevant decisions on treatment abroad were made by 5 people in need of a heart transplant.

Mikichak explained that citizens with pathologies that are not yet treated in Ukraine are sent abroad for treatment, namely oncohaematological profile, neurosurgery, cardiac surgery.
“We are constantly in contact with the clinics that treat Ukrainian citizens and, in each case, we coordinate the possibilities at this time, during the period of coronavirus infection, to send our patients to certain foreign clinics with which the Ukraine has formalized relations, “she said. deputy minister.
