Among employees of the state prison service, as well as convicted and detained persons, as of May 8, 16 cases of COVID-19 had been revealed.

This was reported on Facebook by the Department of the Execution of Criminal Sentences.

It should be noted that on May 8, 399 people were tested by polymerase chain reaction, in 16 of them, COVID-19 was detected.

In particular, among the staff of the State Prison Service, 12 people were infected, one person was part of the medical staff of the GUIS Health Center. In addition, a coronavirus was discovered in two prisoners and one convict.

As reported by Ukrinform, on the morning of May 8 in Ukraine, 14,195 cases of COVID-19 had been laboratory confirmed, 361 of them were fatal, 2,706 patients recovered. During the day, 504 new cases were recorded.
