Prime Minister Denis Shmygal announced the relaxation of quarantine restrictions on May 11 and indicated under what conditions the next phase of concessions will come faster.

The Prime Minister wrote about this on his Facebook page.

The head of government recalled that from Monday in Ukraine, some restrictions will be partially lifted and that the concept of adaptive quarantine will start to work.

“This means that the local government, given the epidemic situation in each specific region, may retain certain restrictions. A simple example: the government has authorized the opening of shops in the mall, as well as beauty salons. Kiev city government has decided to wait with the opening of the shopping center, and the Lviv city government believes it is too early to open hair salons. Shmygal thanked all Ukrainians who abide by the quarantine rules for two months.

“I know it has not been easy, but you have really saved thousands of lives and better prepared our medical system for the challenges of the pandemic. Now is the crucial moment, because weakening the quarantine does not mean that the coronavirus is gone or has become less dangerous. ” – he stressed.

As reported, on March 12, the government introduced quarantine in Ukraine to combat the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection. In particular, commercial establishments have been closed, with the exception of grocery stores, pharmacies, petrol stations and banks. The works of the Kiev metro, Kharkov and the Dnieper have been stopped, the circulation of land transport in cities, interurban and interregional automobile, rail and air services has been stopped.
