Next week, salary arrears for doctors and other health workers will start to be covered.
This was reported during a traditional meeting chaired by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on preventing the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic, reports the press service of the Head of State.
Debts will be covered by grants included in the new version of the budget.
“We have to close the issue of debts to doctors in the near future. It does not matter for what reasons they appeared. We thought the budget contained all the resources to solve the problems. I understand that debts are on time, but start paying them off as soon as possible. The budget, among other things, includes additional funding for those suffering from coronavirus. Doctors should receive all of this from April, ”said Zelensky.
The President also stressed the need to continue to provide doctors with protective equipment and to explain the algorithms on how to protect themselves from infection. In the past two days, most cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded, compared to the previous period of infection. This can be attributed to the Easter holidays, because last Sunday more than 100,000 Ukrainians attended events in churches, and symptoms of the disease most often appear 5-6 days after infection, did they said at a meeting.

“I really hope that the Ukrainians are aware of the risks of infection for this Easter in the churches. “Easter at home” is the right decision to let people know that this year it is necessary to stay at home for this great vacation. This will help protect the health and lives of many people so that next year it will be possible to attend worship again and celebrate Easter in a traditional and unrestricted manner, “said the president.
As indicated, as of April 18, 5106 cases of COVID-19 had been laboratory confirmed in Ukraine, including 133 deaths, 275 people recovered. During the past day, 444 notifications of new confirmed cases were received.
