President Vladimir Zelensky stressed that the state should provide a reliable plan to return to normal life after quarantine.

Zelensky pointed this out in a traditional meeting with representatives from the Cabinet of Ministers and key departments responsible for measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection, according to the President’s Office website.

It was noted that during the meeting, it was noted the need to develop a quarantine exit plan.

“We have not yet completely defeated the coronavirus, but we must already anticipate how to get out of quarantine. I know everyone wants this. And the state should provide a reliable plan to return to normal life, but with new security rules, “said Zelensky.

The Ministry of Health said that Ukraine was gradually increasing the number of coronavirus tests.

Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said the government is already working on mechanisms to ease quarantine restrictions.

As noted, the Cabinet of Ministers on Wednesday authorized food markets to operate during quarantine, but subject to certain criteria.

On April 24, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal unveiled a quarantine exit plan in Ukraine, which includes 5 steps. The head of government also informed that the starting point for the implementation of this plan could take place on May 11, subject to a favorable epidemic situation. Each stage has clear indicators and depends on the dynamics of the spread of morbidity.

Since March 12, the government has introduced quarantine in Ukraine to fight the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection. Commercial establishments were closed, except for grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations and banks. Work on the Kiev metro, Kharkov and Dnipro has been stopped, the circulation of land transport in cities, interurban and interregional automobile, rail and air services has been stopped.

Now the quarantine in Ukraine has been extended until May 11, 2020.

After May 11, Cabinet will apply the adaptive quarantine mechanism in areas where coronavirus outbreaks can be recorded.
