Stepanov announced higher wages for secondary and tertiary care workers

From 1 September, it is planned to increase the salaries of medical staff at the secondary and tertiary levels.
This was announced during a briefing on Saturday June 20, reports Health Minister Maxim Stepanov, a correspondent for Ukrinform.
“From September 1, 2020, we will increase the salaries of our employees. This increase will also apply to doctors and nurses, average and junior medical personnel. This increase will apply to 2nd, 3rd level medical workers working in , our highly specialized hospitals, “he said.
Stepanov noted that the salaries of doctors at these medical establishments will increase by 70% of the tariff rate – an average of 3.5 thousand UAH.
“The wages of nurses will be raised by 50% of the minimum wage, and of nurses by 25% of the minimum wage set in the country,” he said.

Stepanov said that the procedure for calculating and paying trainee salaries would also change.
“We adopted such changes yesterday, importantly, at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers,” added the minister.
As Ukrinform reported, on June 19, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted amendments to the medical guarantees program, which introduced a new package for infectious, anti-tuberculosis, psychiatric and regional hospitals.
