Stepanov said that under the Ministry of Health, they planned to create an anti-epidemiological service
The Ministry of Health is not examining the question of the separation of the National Health and Epidemiological Service of Ukraine into a separate body; rather, it examines the creation of an anti-epidemiological service within the Ministry.
This was announced by Health Minister Maxim Stepanov during a briefing on Thursday, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.
“With regard to the allocation of a central executive authority to a separate body, we do not envisage such a question for the moment. We envisage the creation of an anti-epidemiological service within the Ministry of Health, in which there would be a very clear functionality, namely the conduct of all activities, including the establishment of an infectious control, it is a response, according to the situation, by the forces of specialists who should be in this service, “said Stepanov, responding to the question whether the National Health and Epidemiological Service of Ukraine will again be assigned to a separate body and what awaits this area in Ukraine post-coronavirus.
In 2017, the Council of Ministers of Ukraine, by its resolution, abolished the National Health and Epidemiological Service.
