The pilot project on the reform of the secondary link in medicine, tested in Poltava, differs from the reform introduced from April 1, 2020 throughout Ukraine.

Health Minister Maxim Stepanov said this at an information meeting in Poltava on May 11, which was broadcast on the Cabinet’s YouTube channel, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.

“If you look at which pilot the Poltava region worked in, on the one hand, and on the other hand, look at what has been presented to us since April 1 – these are completely different things. The Poltava region worked on a pilot project when the principle of payment for medical services was introduced. The medical service was paid for a specific treated case, namely for the complexity of the case when the coefficients were introduced. This is completely different from the experience that was introduced across the country, starting April 1, from the experience that medicine began to suffer from. And all this can lead to very terrible consequences, namely: the closure of hospitals, the dismissal of medical personnel, “said Stepanov.

He stressed that during a working visit to Poltava, he would go to the regional clinical hospital, the emergency and disaster medicine station, as well as the central district hospital. from Khorol to speak to doctors who “worked in this experiment”. According to the head of the ministry, he will study the experience of the pilot project so that the qualitative changes in medicine in the Poltava region are introduced throughout Ukraine.

As reported by Ukrinform, Stepanov is today in the Poltava region on a work trip.
