Stepanov to sign order to start mass ELISA for coronavirus on Monday

Health Minister Maxim Stepanov intends to sign a decree on Monday to introduce a mass ELISA test for the detection of COVID-19 anti-coronavirus antibodies.
He said this during a briefing on Saturday, reports the Ukrinform correspondent.
“A test mechanism has already been developed, where a circle of people is defined and how we are going to test. We are looking forward to these tests. On Monday, the Minister of Health’s order on the introduction of ELISA tests will be signed, “said Stepanov.
According to him, it is now planned to use tests with European certificates, and there are also plans to complete the tests of Ukrainian production tests. “We think we can also start using them,” said the minister.

Stepanov hopes that the introduction of mass ELISA diagnostics will provide an opportunity to significantly expand the circle of people who will be tested.
As reported by Ukrinform, as of May 16, 17,858 cases of COVID-19 had been laboratory confirmed in Ukraine. For a day – 528 new ones.
