Stepanov: We don’t see a drop in the incidence of COVID-19
In Ukraine, the number of detected cases of COVID-19 coronavirus has not yet decreased.
This was announced by Health Minister Maxim Stepanov at a special government meeting on Monday, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.
“In the past 17 consecutive days, we have recorded 400 to 600 COVID-19 coronavirus diseases across the country. At the same time, we are increasing the number of tests, but we still do not see a decrease in the incidence But we understand that there is a certain economic condition and being quarantined for more than 50 days begins to have a very strong impact on the economy and greatly affects social tension, that is to say that people want to understand how they should keep working, “said Stepanov.
According to him, it is necessary to clearly define the quarantine mechanism, as well as the health standards that must be respected in the institutions that open.
“I believe that in the decree that we will adopt and finalize in a day or two, it is necessary to clearly define the quarantine mechanism, the health standards that should be in the institutions that we open. This applies to the distance and the means personal protection, disinfectants, etc. And it must be controlled fairly tightly. I think that the public food and drink service should control it with the national police, and always with the local authorities, “said the minister.

At the same time, he noted that, thanks to quarantine in Ukraine, it was possible “not to fall into the peak of incidence, not to overload our medical system to a level where we would not be able to provide medical care to all. “
It was reported that as of May 4, according to the cost center, in Ukraine, 12,331 cases of COVID-19 had been laboratory confirmed, in particular 303 fatalities, 1,619 patients recovered. 418 new cases were recorded per day.
