Sternenko asks the court not to elect him any preventive measure
Sergei Sternenko said that when two people attacked him, he simply swept them away, trying to protect himself and his girlfriend.
The activist declared this at the Shevchenko district court in Kiev, where he was elected as a preventive measure, reports the correspondent for Ukrinform.
“I started to defend myself and stab the assailant with the knife just after I received two blows to the head from them. Around the same time, they injured my arm. When they attacked me, I very quickly, chaotically, not seeing where I hit them and hit them, waved them to prevent them from killing me or paralyzing me, or killing, or paralyzing my girlfriend Said Sternenko.
He said he was running along the road that one of the attackers, Ivan Kuznetsov, was running to detain him, and when he caught him, he fell to the ground. Sternenko called him an ambulance.
The activist noted that two psychological examinations were attached to the production of which he is a victim, “which established that even when he attempted to prosecute, he could still be in a necessary state of defense and still perceived a threat to his life and health until an ambulance takes it. “
Sternenko said he did not approach Kuznetsov within a few meters.
“He spoke with me and asked to call an ambulance, and answered the question,” Why did you attack me? “That” we were wrong. “What refutes the arguments of the prosecution, Kuznetsov died very quickly (after the injuries – editor’s note),” said the activist.
According to him, after calling Kuznetsov an ambulance, he noticed bleeding in himself, tried to bandage his arm, but she did not listen and he asked a passerby to help stop the bleeding .
“If I wanted to commit premeditated murder, would I turn on the show to talk about what happened, would I call it (Kuznetsov – ed.) An ambulance?” – said Sternenko.

The activist asked the judge not to choose any preventive measures for him and noted that the suspicion message addressed to him was clearly unfounded.
After the speech, those present in court applauded him.
The court then proceeded to study the written evidence.
As reported, on June 15, the Shevchenkovsky Court continued to consider the request for the election of a preventive measure to Sternenko.
He was informed on June 11 of a suspected crime within the meaning of art. 115 h.1 (intentional infliction of unlawful death on another person) and art. 263 para. 2 (transport of cold steel without the authorization provided for by law) of the Criminal Code.
On the evening of May 24, 2018, two assailants attacked Sternenko and his girlfriend. While pushing back, the activist fatally wounded one of them with a knife in the stomach. Sternenko himself and the second attacker, who were quickly detained by the police but immediately released, stabbed him and granted him witness and state guard status.
