Activist Sergei Sternenko wrested from the Shevchenkovsky District Court the provisions of the court decision, which he chose as a preventive measure in the form of house arrest.
This was reported by the Ukrinform correspondent.
He recalled that the court order stated that he was to be placed under house arrest in a military unit in Odessa, “which they will not let me in, as this is a sensitive establishment, and it is my place of residence “.
“The judge had information that I live in Kiev, and the prosecutor gave it to him, and the petition was aimed at giving me a preventive measure, perhaps at an address in Kiev, but they decided that I should be summoned at residence in Odessa on the street. Primorskaya, 37, – there is a detachment of border guards. I see directly how I get to the border guards and I say to them: “Hello, I live here” … We asked the judge to clarify this decision – he fled, we asked the prosecutor to clarify this decision – he fled. But if I do not comply with this judgment, it means that I will be violating the duties assigned to me. This means that the prosecutor will come to court and say that you think Sternenko did not abide by the court decision as a coercive measure. The next most serious preventive measure that can be requested is only detention … “, said Sternenko and tore up the court order.
