Activist Sergei Sternenko said head of the court Shevchenkovsky had personally promised that a review of the court decision in his case would take place.

This was reported by the Ukrinform correspondent.

Tuesday in particular, the time of the new meeting on Sternenko should be known in advance.

He clarified that all the details will be later.

The activist wrote on his Facebook page that “the head of the Shevchenko court has promised a reconsideration of the court’s decision, because today’s decision cannot be implemented”.

As Ukrinform reported, on June 15, the Shevchenkovsky District Court in Kiev chose Sternenko’s preventive measure in the form of a house arrest. At the same time, according to the activist, the place of house arrest in the court decision indicated “a military unit in Odessa”, instead of registration, but he is not allowed to go there, because it is a sensitive establishment. “

“This decision cannot be implemented,” said the activist and noted that for his non-compliance, prosecutors can then “request detention”.

On the evening of May 24, 2018, two assailants attacked Sternenko and his girlfriend. While pushing back, the activist fatally wounded one of them with a knife in the stomach. Sternenko himself and the second attacker were stabbed and wounded, which the police quickly arrested, but immediately released, granting him witness status and then state protection.
