Stop cultural quarantine: in Ukraine announced an action in favor of the entertainment industry

On May 12, a large-scale action will be held in cities of Ukraine to support the sphere of creative industries and entertainment events.

“The Stop Cultural Quarantine action is designed to draw the attention of the government to the fact of the existence of the cultural industry in Ukraine and to start a dialogue with its representatives concerning a possible scenario to exit quarantine,” said Note.
The organizers note that the quarantine exit plan has been developed for all industries except the culture and entertainment industry. “The government has no scenario for us, for more than 250,000 people – artists, actors, musicians, choreographers, event organizers, cinemas, event agencies, light, sound and stage technical staff, decorators, ticket offices. there are hundreds in our industry “specializations and professions without which it is impossible to imagine the modern cultural life of the country today”, they underline.

Consequently, on May 12 at 10 p.m. on the emblematic places of Ukrainian cities, the rays of light directed towards the sky will light up.
“Look at us! Listen to us! Give us the opportunity to work, to discuss with us, how we can jointly develop a quarantine exit plan and revive the multifaceted cultural sphere of Ukraine,” noted Kyiv Music. Days.
It should be noted that Lviv, Kharkov, Odessa, Khmelnitsky, Vinnitsa, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Uzhgorod, Ternopol, Kiev join the action.
As reported, on March 12, the government introduced quarantine in Ukraine to combat the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection. In particular, commercial establishments have been closed, with the exception of grocery stores, pharmacies, petrol stations and banks. Subway work in Kiev, Kharkov and Dnipro has been stopped, land transport in cities has been stopped, inter-city and inter-regional car, rail and air communications have been stopped.
On May 4, the Cabinet of Ministers extended the quarantine, but since May 11, restrictions have been relaxed.
