The court began to choose a preventive measure Sternenko
The Kiev Shevchenkovsky District Court has started examining the petition for the election of a preventive measure to activist Sergei Sternenko.
This was reported by the Ukrinform correspondent.
Prosecutor Nikolai Bozovulyak started reading the text of the petition around 9:00 p.m.
The meeting itself began at approximately 2:10 p.m. before the examination of nominations continued.
Meanwhile, the court three times refused the defense to challenge judge Vladimir Bugil, the prosecutor Bozovulyak, summoning the people’s deputies Igor Vasiliev and Geo Leros, at the same time that he acceded to the request to summon the Prosecutor’s meeting Andrei Radionov, who, according to media reports, had previously refused to sign Sternenko’s suspicions.

As reported, in Kiev, several hundred people appeared before the Shevchenko district court in Kiev to support the activist Sternenko.
Sternenko June 11 at the Main Investigation Department SBU announced a suspicion of a crime under art. 115 h.1 (intentional infliction of unlawful death on another person) and art. 263 part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (transport of cold steel without legal authorization).
The prosecution has prepared a petition regarding the election of Sternenko’s preventive measure in the form of a 24-hour house arrest.
Sternenko is an Odessa activist, member of the local Euromaidan and former head of the Odessa law sector.
On the evening of May 24, 2018, two assailants attacked Sternenko and his girlfriend. Cursing himself against the attackers, he fatally wounded one of them with a knife in the stomach. Sternenko himself and the second attacker, who were quickly arrested by the police and immediately released, were stabbed, given witness status, and then granted state protection.

In total, in 2018, he made three assassination attempts in Odessa in just six months.
The cases of the attacks were referred to the main investigative directorate of the SBU in Kiev, as the prosecution explained, due to the “need to verify information concerning a possible involvement of local authorities and the police in the attacks”.
For two years, the investigation has not officially established the organizers of the attacks on Sternenko. There is no penalty in these cases.
