The court extended the investigation into the treason case of General SBU Shaitanov
The Shevchenkovsky District Court in Kiev has extended the preliminary investigation into the case of Major General of the Security Services of Ukraine Valery Shaitanov, suspected of high treason and of preparing for terrorist attacks.
The corresponding decision was taken on June 4 by investigating judge Elena Meleshak, the court’s press service told Ukrinform.
“The judge granted the request and extended the preliminary investigation period in the Valery Shaitanov case,” the court said.

As noted, counterintelligence of the Ukrainian security services on April 14 arrested SBU Major General Valery Shaitanov on suspicion of treason and terrorist acts.
According to the investigation, in particular, he planned on the instructions of the Russian special services the murder of a volunteer Adam Osmaev.
On April 15, the Shevchenkovsky District Court in Kiev chose a preventive measure in the form of 60-day detention.
