The court in the Sternenko case heard as witnesses of three people’s deputies
The Shevchenkovsky District Court, in connection with the meeting on the election of a preventive measure, Sergei Sternenko interviewed as witnesses deputies of the Rada, members of the VSK to investigate attacks on activists – Solomiya Bobrovskaya, Dmitry Gurin and Geo Leros.

Bobrovskaya, in particular, spoke about examining exams at VSK meetings, and also said that one of the Sternenka attackers – Isaikul – had not been summoned to the VSK meeting, there was also no representatives there.
In turn, Leros noted: Prosecutor Radionov, who media reports said refused to sign Sternenko’s suspicions, clearly stated that “there were indirect instructions from the management of the attorney general’s office that Sternenko should to be suspected “.
“He stated in the minutes that he had sent a letter to the group of prosecutors … As far as I can remember, they talked about the need to focus on the third examination (Kouznetsov’s body – editor’s note) ), and not to take into account the first two. And also that the prosecutors themselves castigate and that he (Rodionov – ed.) did not agree with this, “said Leros.
He added that Radionov had “directly asked if there were any specific instructions from the Attorney General’s Office in the Sternenko case, and he said that there were not directly, but that there were clues. “
The court also questioned Dmitry Gurin as a witness at the meeting.

For his part, Sternenko, after the prosecutor’s speech, noted that when announcing the text of the petition, he had said that he was holding a knife in his right hand during the prosecution. “But in the expert’s conclusion of 04/03/2020, the left hand is represented … and what the prosecutor had in mind when he said that it (blows – note) was done by the hand right, “said Sternenko.
As reported by Ukrinform, in Kiev, several hundred people came to Shevchenkovsky district court to support activist Sternenko.
On June 11, a suspicion of crime within the meaning of art. 115 h.1 (intentional and unlawful infliction of death on another person) and art. 263 para. 2 (transport of cold steel without the authorization provided for by law) of the Criminal Code.

His defense later said the Kiev Shevchenkovsky District Court would consider the request for the selection of a preventive measure in the form of a 24-hour house arrest.
Sternenko is an Odessa activist, member of the local Euromaidan and former head of the Odessa law sector.
On the evening of May 24, 2018, two assailants attacked Sternenko and his girlfriend. While pushing back, the activist fatally wounded one of them with a knife in the stomach. Sternenko himself and the second attacker were stabbed and wounded, which the police quickly arrested, but immediately released, granting him witness status and then state protection.
In total, three attempts were made on Sternenko in Odessa in 2018.

The cases of attacks were referred to the General Directorate of Investigations of the SBU in Kiev, as explained by the prosecution, because of the “need to verify information on the possible involvement of local authorities and the police in the attacks ”.
For two years, the investigation has not officially established the organizers of the attacks on Sternenko. There is no penalty in these cases.
