On April 15, the Kiev Court of Appeal upheld the decision of the Pechersky District Court, which ordered PrivatBank to pay more than $ 250 million to offshore companies of the Surkisov family.

“On April 15, the Kiev Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal and upheld the decision of the Pechersky District Court, which ordered PrivatBank to pay more than $ 250 million to the Surkis brothers’ offshore companies,” said confirmed the bank.
As noted, the court has postponed the trial several times. In addition, PrivatBank attorneys did not call PrivatBank attorneys for a preliminary hearing to consider the appeal of an executor from a decision to pay Surkisov abroad $ 250 million.
At the same time, the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court has scheduled for April 27 the examination of the trial of the Surkis family against the National Bank concerning the recognition of their affiliation to PrivatBank and the exchange of their contributions to PrivatBank for actions.

On December 18, 2016, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to bring the state into the capital of PrivatBank. As part of the nationalization of the bank, its obligations to related parties were subject to the internal bailout procedure and were exchanged for shares of the bank’s additional issue.
On May 17, 2017, the Kiev District Administrative Court declared the NBU commission’s decision to recognize the Surkis family as persons related to PrivatBank illegal and overturned the orders of the temporary administrator of PrivatBank concerning individual accounts. The Surkis family and their associates have initiated 42 lawsuits against the National Bank of Ukraine.
