The death of bees due to pesticides: named the most problematic regions
In Ukraine, the question of the death of bees due to the use of pesticides and agrochemicals when farmers treat the fields is still an issue.
This was stated by the director of the Department of Food Safety and Veterinary Medicine of the National Food and Beverage Service Boris Kobal, according to the service’s website.
He noted that despite the work done with farmers and beekeepers this year, the issue of the death of bee colonies due to the use of pesticides during field cultivation remains topical. And he added that the most problematic regions are now the Chernihiv and Zhytomyr regions.
Kobal also stressed that the primary production (apiary) of food products of animal origin, as well as related activities, in particular the storage and handling of primary products at the place of primary production (pumping of honey) are subject to the state registration.

At the same time, he clarified that now the state registration request form does not provide details on primary production, so it is difficult at this stage to determine the number of available sandstones and the location of their apiaries.
