The Ministry of Education explained how to pass the canceled state exams
It is recommended that the heads of general and vocational (vocational) secondary schools designate beneficiaries of education who wish to follow public secondary education and issue full secondary education certificates and their annexes in accordance with this wish.
This is indicated in the explanatory letter addressed to school heads and published on the website of the Ministry of Education, press service of the Ministry of Education and Science.
“The law, signed by President Vladimir Zelensky, exempts all forms of job seekers who complete their general secondary studies during the 2019/2020 academic year. At the same time, applicants have the right to pass their certification by themselves. Security conditions have been created for the GIA in the form of a UPR; participants and instructors will receive protective equipment. At the same time, we note that the SAE in educational institutions should also occur in conditions that are safe for the health of graduates and teachers, ”noted the Acting Director. Minister of Education and Science Lyubomir Mandziy.
It is recommended that heads of general and vocational (vocational and technical) secondary schools find graduates who wish to attend higher education. To do this, it is recommended to receive as soon as possible a declaration confirming the will to submit to a GIA in an educational institution or in the form of a UPR. The request must come from adult applicants or one of the parents or other legal representatives of minors. Such a request can be submitted to the institution in person or send a scanned copy by email. The deadline and mode of application are determined by the institution.

Graduates who do not wish to take the GIA must issue complete secondary school certificates and attachments with the mention “validated (a)” in the corresponding box of the application form.
For graduates wishing to take a state exam in the form of the unified state exam, institutions must:
organize the transportation of participants to the test points;
after having received from the UCOA the results of the GIA in the form of a UPR, issue secondary school leaving certificates, noting the results in the corresponding box of the application form.
For graduates who wish to pass the GIA in an educational establishment, the establishments must:
to verify the right to undergo a GIA in an educational establishment in accordance with the GIA procedure;
organize a GIA in writing on the tasks and within the deadlines approved by the school head, but at the latest at the end of the school year;
after successfully completing the GIA, issue full secondary school certificates showing the results of the GIA in the corresponding box on the application form.
In addition, the Ministry of Education and Science has clarified that beneficiaries who request a gold or silver medal are entitled to receive these medals without passing the GIA.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Ministry of Education and Science and UNICEF, the Swiss Embassy in Ukraine, the Naftogaz Ukrainy group ensured security conditions at all test points. The main session of the external peer review will take place from June 25 to July 17.
