The funds from the Coronavirus Foundation will be used to pay doctors, purchase equipment, drugs and medical devices for hospitals, as well as to reimburse local budgets for observation expenses.

This was announced during a briefing on Tuesday by Health Minister Maxim Stepanov, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.

According to him, the fund will also make payments to citizens who, as a result of the so-called coronacrisis, have lost their jobs, providing timely cash assistance to family members of deceased health workers from COVID-19.

In addition, the fund will replenish the reserve fund of the state budget of 3 billion UAH.

“Of these funds, including funds will go to finance the spending of local budgets for the observation of people coming from abroad,” said the minister.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Verkhovna Rada, on April 13, at an extraordinary meeting, supported the modifications of the state budget for 2020, which plan to reduce revenues by 119.75 billion UAH and spending increasing by 82.4 billion UAH.

At the same time, it is planned to create a fund to fight COVID-19 in the amount of 64.7 billion UAH.
