The Ministry of Health’s laboratory centers at Easter functioned as usual, the lack of reports in seven areas was due to technical errors, as well as the fact that at Easter many people did not go to the doctor for PCR tests.
This was announced during a briefing on Tuesday by Health Minister Maxim Stepanov, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.
“All the laboratories without exception worked in normal mode, that is to say they did not take a break. These zeros (by the number of PCR tests carried out in the reports – note) were due to the fact that at Easter, many people did not go to see a doctor concerning the particular method of testing We also confirmed this situation by the fact that we had no income for the hotline concerning refusals to carry out the PCR ” said Stepanov.
In addition, according to him, technical errors were made in certain regional laboratory centers when zero was indicated in the report when carrying out a certain number of tests. “For example, in the Chernivtsi region, 48 PCR studies were carried out, 17 confirmed cases were included in the report, but, unfortunately, there was a technical error, the girl filling out our form set to zero” explained Stepanov.
In addition, according to him, in other cases, the lack of statistics was due to the fact that the laboratory was taking a break due to the technical capabilities of the equipment.
