The Ministry of Health plans to create a network of disease control centers
The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with experts, will examine the draft law on the health and epidemiological well-being of the population.
It was during a briefing on the occasion of European Public Health Week, said Deputy Minister of Health, Chief Medical Officer of Health Viktor Lyashko, a correspondent for Ukrinform.
“In our system, we want to build an epidemic protection system, which will build on a vertical system of disease control centers … We are currently reviewing our bill on health welfare and epidemiological of the population and the public health system, in terms of greater centralization of powers in the response preparation system. This week we meet again online and in the future to discuss all the experts who participated in drafting the previous version of the bill for translation. Inspect it, update it and submit it to the Verkhovna Rada for approval of the public health bill, which provides for the creation of a network of incidence control centers, “said Lyashko.

He added that a separate component of this system is the epidemic protection system, which must be configured and operated as part of constant preparation for threats that may arise, in particular chemical, toxicological and radiological threats.
Reminder: as of May 12, 16,023 cases of COVID-19 had been confirmed in the laboratory in Ukraine, 425 people had died, 3,373 recovered.
