The Ministry of Health recently decided to give the green light to the opening of children’s camps
In 2020, 1.2 million children need health and leisure in children’s summer camps, a decision on the opening of children’s camps and the conditions for their operation will be made in the coming days.
This was announced at an information meeting on June 10 by Health Minister Maxim Stepanov, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.
“According to local authorities, this year the number of children who should be sent for recreational or recreational purposes is 1 million 200,000 children. On the other hand, we understand that in a children’s camp, there are children from different regions of Ukraine, with the incidence rate … In addition, the staff of this children’s camp will also be from different regions. Of course, the risk of infection increases. Therefore, we let’s analyze very carefully the recommendations to be opened for children’s camps. I think we need a few more days, we will consult, this decision (on the opening of children’s camps – note) will be accepted by the government, and it there will immediately be a message on their opening and recommendations on the conditions, “said Stepanov.

As Ukrinform reported, at the end of May, Stepanov announced that the children’s camps would open at the last stage of the quarantine relief. At the same time, the chief medical officer of health, Viktor Lyashko, deems it inappropriate to open camps for children during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As of June 10, 28,381 cases of COVID-19 had been laboratory confirmed in Ukraine, 525 new cases were registered per day.
