The state has ordered two million PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests for the coronavirus from domestic manufacturers.
Deputy Head of Office of the President of Ukraine, Secretary to the Coordinating Council to Combat the Spread of COVID-19, Kirill Tymoshenko, said in a talk show “Savik Shuster’s freedom of expression”, reports the correspondent of Ukrinform.
“We have started production of Ukrainian PCR tests. We have ordered 2 million tests there. From the middle of next week, they will start to give us between 2 and 7,000 such tests every day,” said Tymoshenko .
He added that Ukrainian tests will be cheaper than those imported from abroad.

As previously reported, President Vladimir Zelensky established the COVID-19 Coordinating Council to Combat the Spread as an advisory body to the President of Ukraine.
On April 2, Viktor Lyashko, Deputy Minister of Health, Chief Medical Officer of Health of Ukraine, said that Ukraine would provide all laboratories in need with tests for domestic coronavirus, and it was expected that the serial production of tests would begin next week.
In Ukraine, at 10 p.m. on Friday April 3, 1,072 cases of coronavirus infection were registered, 27 people died.
